Pre-Surgical Instructions

Clear liquids only, (i.e apple juice, ginger ale, juices without pulp, clear broth, jell-O, popsicles, coffee or tea (without milk), ices without pulp.

Neomycin 500-mg tablets

• 2 tablets at 1 pm
• 2 tablets at 2 pm
• 2 tablets at 11pm

Flagyl 500-mg tablets

• 1 tablet at 1 pm
• 1 tablet at 2 pm
• 1 tablets at 11 pm

Colyte or NuLytely, 4 liters, starting at 3:00 pm as per the following instructions:

• Consume 4 liters by drinking an 8-oz glass every 10 minutes. Rapid drinking of each portion is preferred rather than drinking small amounts continuously.
• First bowel movement may occur approximately one hour after the start of Colyte or Nulytely.
• If irritation develops during the preparation, it is recommended that you lubricate the rectal area with Vaseline or A&D ointment.
